Coronavirus Booster Vaccines

Dear Patients,

You may have heard in the news the next phase of the COVID vaccination programme has commenced, that means that some people will be eligible for a Spring COVID Booster (which may be a 4th dose), therefore if you fall into one of the groups below, the NHS will contact you:

  • Aged 75 and over
  • Live in a care home for older people
  • Aged 12 and over and have a weakened immune system

Please note, Milman Road and Kennet Surgery is not offering Spring Boosters at this time. This is because it is more efficient to do this through the Mass Vaccination Centre in Reading.

We will recommence flu and COVID vaccinations in the Autumn, therefore please do not call the surgery to book.

Please see the following link for more information: How to get a booster dose of the coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine – NHS (www.nhs.uk)

You should receive an invite from the NHS Central team (not the Surgery) when you are due. This will be around 6 months (and not before 3 months) since your last dose of vaccine.

If you have not yet had either of your first 2 doses of the vaccine or third dose (for those with weakened immune system) you should have them as soon as possible.

The link to the National Booking system is as follows: Book or manage a coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination – NHS (www.nhs.uk)

You can also call 119 if you have questions or need help with coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccinations, testing, NHS COVID Pass, and more.

Calls to 119 are free from mobiles and landlines. Lines are open every day from 8am to 8pm. 119 provides support in 200 languages.
