When we started a group it was called Friends of the practice. We encouraged patients to be part of the Patient Participation Group by putting up leaflets in the waiting room, notices on the website and asking patients while they were waiting for doctor’s appointments. Only very few patients replied. Out of 6 replies, only 3 attended the meeting.
Action plan
We are going to encourage patients to join the Patient Participation Group and to book appointments and order repeat prescriptions online.
Join our Patient Participation Group
All registered patients are able to join our Patient Participation Group. People of all genders, ages, ethnicities, and those with health conditions and disabilities are encouraged to join.
Members should as far as possible, be representative of the surgery population.

Patient Participation Group pages on Your Voice website
BOB ICB is pleased to share with you that our Patient Participation Group pages are now active on the Your Voice website. These pages offer chairs of PPGs a space to communicate with each other, share information and important updates.
Please encourage your PPG chairs to contact us if they would like to be part of this space.
They will be required to register for Your Voice and email the engagement team (bobicb-ox.engagement.bobics@nhs.net) with their name, PPG name and whether they would like to be added to Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire or Berkshire West pages.
Thank you for your support in launching these spaces for sharing and learning and please reach out to us if you have any questions.
